The Right Fit

SECE partners with social enterprises and purpose-driven organizations that have moved beyond the start-up or proof-of-concept stage and are ready to scale.

Assignments focus on significant strategic or operational challenges—the kind that can lead to breakthrough improvements in performance and impact.

Assignment Structure

Assignments run over 8 weeks and are offered twice a year:

  • Spring Term: mid-April to mid-June

  • Autumn Term: mid-October to mid-December

Each assignment follows a clear and professional cadence:

Week 1 – Kick-off & Briefing: Online briefing by the CEO or senior leader, including Q&A and clarification of objectives.

Week 4 – Mid-Point Review: Short progress update to align expectations, validate direction, and refine focus.

Week 8 – Final Presentation: Delivery of insights and recommendations directly to the CEO or leadership team.

How It Works

Student teams are self-directed, working independently to determine which methodologies and analytical tools from their MBA curriculum best suit the challenge at hand.

Teams of 2–4 students commit approximately 4 hours per week to remote work and earn one ISP credit under the academic supervision of Prof. Chengyi Lin.

What They Said

"Our partnership with the INSEAD SECE program and the student team was an exceptionally valuable experience for Fairphone. The students went above and beyond the assignment's scope, delivering valuable, actionable insights on our real-world challenges. We are very grateful for their work and look forward to building on our relationship with INSEAD."

Monique Lempers CIO Fairphone

“The project provided a safe space to experiment, learn, and develop independent judgment. The high degree of autonomy enabled us to think & operate like a “real manager”, empowering us to form our own views and take clear stances, which is not always easy to do in traditional consulting careers.”
